Piotr Krzystek

Legal advisor, manager, graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Szczecin.

Born on February 5, 1973, he has tied his life to Szczecin and his professional career to public service.

Mayor of Szczecin since 2006. He is the initiator of many urban development projects. He launched the process of designing and implementing a long-term strategy for managing the brand of the city of Szczecin Floating Garden 2050, as well as an unprecedented three-year process of public consultations for the Szczecin 2020 program, which includes the city's development directions within the EU financial perspective 2014 - 2020.

During his term, Szczecin has increasingly turned its focus towards water. The city has renovated kilometers of boulevards, hosting several times the largest outdoor maritime event – the finals of The Tall Ships Races. Piotr Krzystek is implementing an ambitious investment program. Since 2006, the city has been dynamically changing its face.

There has been a significant improvement in road infrastructure, modern trams and buses now operate in Szczecin, and architectural icons such as the Szczecin Philharmonic, Summer Theatre, and Lentz Villa are being created. In recent years, a modern football stadium and the Water Factory – a unique aquapark combined with an educational center – have also been opened. These facilities have quickly become some of Szczecin's major landmarks.

Personally, Piotr Krzystek values active recreation, spending his free time on tennis courts, and during the sailing season, he engages in water sports.
