Dans Jansons is Defence Project Manager at Submerge Baltic and a former Latvian Armed Forces officer whose career spans military operations, capability development, multinational training, defence industry and dual-use technology. He completed four operational deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan and later served as JTAC Programme Manager, contributing to multinational work aligning NATO and U.S. doctrine, training and accreditation frameworks. From 2015 to 2018, he supported the development and accreditation of the JTAC programme at the Polish Air Force Academy in Dęblin, serving as Course Director, instructor and senior evaluator.After transitioning to the defence industry, he worked at Patria Latvia on capability-development projects involving military medical systems and dual-use unmanned aerial technologies. He currently works at Submerge Baltic on the PIKE unmanned underwater platform, covering both naval mine-countermeasure and civilian subsea applications. His particular focus is the interface between operational requirements, emerging technology, industry and policy, and how civilian and military capabilities can be developed in a more integrated and interoperable way.
